To care for sempervivum (also known as hens and chicks), provide them with plenty of sunlight, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering. They are drought-tolerant and prefer a sunny, open location, but may need some shade during the hottest part of the day.

They are characterized by their rosette-shaped growth habit, with the "hen" representing the larger, central rosette and the "chicks" referring to the smaller offshoots or offsets that cluster around the hen.

Keep in mind that these are living plants.
